The Weeeeeeekend

Having had the day off on Friday due to being sick I thought it would be a bad idea to go to work on Friday at BBar. I went anyway.
BBar is crazy, I always struggle my way through the night, playing a whole stack of random stuff until it gets to the point where I'm kinda bored so I start playing 2 minutes of a song then mix into something else. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Doing things like mixing Dirty South into Billie Ocean and then into Daft Punk, with a Ying Yang Twins Acapella going the whole time is a whole lotta fun, I love seeing the reaction when I do such things. You've got the strict ministry of sound clubbers who turn their nose up, the 80's kids who just want you play more and more 80's and then the people who aren't out that much and just don't get it. Can you play Britney Spears? :o\
I went until about 3:15 where I was just making weird noises with the cd players which the bouncers didn't really appreciate. I thought it was fun, but that kind of behaviour has got me into trouble in the past.

I woke up on Saturday morning at about 11 all blocked up and not feeling great al all. I managed to pull myself out of bed and into the shower and that made me feel a little bit better. I waited around for my manager, Gina, to come and pick me up. We were gone by 1.  I'd been trying to contact the promoter of Moulin Rouge for a couple of days without any success and I started thinking that maybe I had the date wrong or I'd just imagined the whole thing.
I was supposed to start at 9, so I thought if I rocked up at about 10 to I should be fine. The door was locked and there was no sign of anyone remotely associated with the club except for a girl who was trying to sell us old jackets for $50, turns out she wouldn't sell one to us anyway as she told us we didn't need one, we had mdma... rrrrrrrright! You gotta love Kings X. Anyway, we were eventually let in and we were introduced to the licensee:
L: Hi, I'm Lila, have you played here before?
M: umm, no
L: Ok, there's the DJ booth, I'll turn on a light for you so you can see what you're doing. Don't play too loud.
M: .... oh... umm... errr... ok?
She never turned on any lights and never gave me any indication as to what I should play. So I played my 3 hours, keeping it on a housier tip than I usually would. The crowd was a bit random, pretty young and a few boys with pointy finger and helicopter dancing, but it was still fun. It was great to see Mish, Tash and James out as well considering that I couldn't put the on the doorlist... sorry :o(

After I finished just went back to the hotel and slept! It certainly wasn't a huge party weekend!

I should also mention that we went to Una's for dinner!! I have photo's of the monstrous schnitzel which I'll place up laderz! Delish!

So I'm back at work today and I still feel sick. At least it's only 29 days till I leave for Europe...  31 days till I see Telitha!
